My Client Representation Philosophy:
The last thing anyone wants to spend money on is a lawyer -- I know that. But sometimes it is unavoidable and sometimes it is just a good idea.
In the course of my lifetime and professional career I have gained a lot of experience and developed a lot of expertise, and I have a lot invested in being as knowledgeable and competent as I can be. That being said, I am in the business of selling my time and my expertise to people who need it (but who aren't necessarily happy that they need it). I don't work for free.
If you think or hope that your question is "quick and easy" and should not require you to actually hire a lawyer (me or any other lawyer), then I invite you to check out the "Free Information" tab on this website. If you can't find the answer to your question there, then your question might not be as "quick and easy" as you think, and you might actually need to hire a lawyer.
If you hire me, know this: I am incredibly efficient and direct (some would say I am too direct). I don't have time to waste and I have no desire to waste your money. If I can't help you, I will try to find you someone who can help you. If I can help you, I will do my best work to get you positive results as quickly as they can be realized. I will give you an honest assessment of your situation and what I think it might cost you to accomplish your goals. I love to think outside the box and my most frequently uttered motto is "there's always more than one way to skin a cat" (cat lovers, please don't take offense -- it's just a saying).
I think litigation has become an overly burdensome and costly process that generally does not yield satisfactory results for anyone -- for this reason, I highly favor alternative dispute resolution options and I take a proactive and practical approach to dispute settlement. But litigation has its function and it is sometimes unavoidable, and if you have to take that road I am going to make sure that you understand the investment and commitment involved.
If I don't think what you want to do is reasonable, ethical, or cost efficient, then I will tell you so (and I don't mince words nor apologize). That being said, if you are accused of doing something wrong, you deserve a defense and I will do my best to get you out of whatever jam you are in. I have done a lot of criminal defense work and while it is not ever easy to be on the defensive, there are times when circling the wagons and fighting the good fight is the only option. If you need me for that, then I've got your back.
I have a lot of tools in my tool box, of which creativity, thoughtfulness, and a strong work ethic are three. I am responsive and accessible -- you know why? Because I do what I love and I love what I do. If you can appreciate my philosophy, please contact me.
If you want some big-firm-bull-dog who will take your money but not your calls, then I am not your gal.
